Исходный фрагмент был "...help pupils not judge...".

essential judgement, make their child elitist - бррр
boring (inf) --> tedious / uninspiring
art directions --???
appeal to private teachers - what do you mean by that?
turn vs. turn out
give them some presents for progress --> give them some presents to encourage them / to reward them
etc
It is obvious, that only pupils with their parents should judge about the necessity of taking art lessons, because they can be tedious for majority of them. When parents see that art has captured their child's interest, they make the crucial decision to let them go to art school. Wealthier parents choose elitist art courses, which are immensely popular nowadays. Usually, the idea of attending art lessons appeals to youth greatly and they study there with pleasure. Unfortunately, sometimes, after several lessons, it turns out that child has no aptitude for art. Parents seek to give kid some presents to encourage them, but they become disheartened and refuse visiting the art school or courses, which have no relevance for them anymore.
Nowadays, being a specialist in arts or even knowing more that the average person knows about arts considers as an elitist characteristic. One of the approaches to fill this gap is to teach arts in school. Because of all the doubts I have concerning this question I appeal to add a new discipline in school programs, but don't make it an essential one.
Those schoolchildren who have an aptitude for artistry can join the classes. Having talent and relevant education can help them to express themselves. Exercising schoolmate's talent will encourage to visit arts classes those who was not sure rather they want to learn about arts or not. And there is a high probability that new discipline will capture some of these children's interest. At the same time, the optionality of classes will provide children, who have no aptness for the arts, not to become dishearted by misjudgment.

a specialist in arts - что это такое?
I appeal to add a new discipline -
but don't make it an essential one.
have an aptitude for artistry - что это такое? artistry это ближе по значению к 'артистичность'.
Exercising schoolmate's talent - т.е.
etc

There are some crucial reasons why youngsters should study arts even if it does not appeal to them.
Firstly, kids who are taught arts have better imagination than those who do not deal with arts. However, in order to encourage children to study arts, teachers should capture their interest. Moreover, teachers should not judge their learners strictly. In other case, young learners, especially ones who do not have aptitude for arts or relevant skills, might become disheartened about arts.
Secondly, pupils who study arts can understand the meaning of elitist pieces of arts. Why is it important? I don’t know. Actually, I don’t know how to use this word in such a context

Good!
kids - informal
judge their learners --> the learners (the idea is not developed anyway - why shouldn't they do this?)
have no aptitude for arts (sounds better as it's more formal)
unnecessary repetition of words/ideas:
Firstly, kids who are taught arts have better imagination than those who do not deal with arts. --> Firstly, kids who are taught arts have better imagination than those who are not.
In other case, young learners, especially ones who do not have aptitude for arts or relevant skills, might become disheartened about arts --> In other case, young learners, especially the ones who do not have an aptitude for arts or relevant skills, might become disheartened.

Nowadays children often face the necessity of learning arts which results in somewhat becoming disheartened by the teaching process. I completely agree with the judgement that arts should be part of the school program.
The main reason why learning arts can prove useful is that knowledge in this field is relevant to general education. Encouraging one’s child to learn arts increases his overall level of culture. Even if he has no aptitude for this part of study, it is absolutely vital to motivate him by any means possible.
Moreover by learning arts the child can find his interest captured by some particular aspect, which appeals personally to him.
To make it short I believe that teaching arts is unexpendable part of teaching process to help your child to become a member of elitist society.

Они становятся disheartened by the teaching или by learning process/
member of elitist society.
that knowledge in this field is relevant to general education - не поняла...
for this part of study - не поняла...
