The National Gallery of Australia's travelling exhibition of Australian Portraits 1880-1960 will officially open after works were flown into to Brisbane to go on display.
It is the first major travelling exhibition of Australian portraits mounted by the National Gallery of Australia, and is part of the Gallery's extensive program of sharing the national collection with all states in Australia.
The exhibition Australian portraits: 1880-1960, is a compelling and diverse representation of Australians—from the theatrical Victorians and Edwardians, through to flappers, bushrangers and fashion icons.
The exhibition is open at the Art Museum at University of Queensland's St Lucia Campus until 27th March 2011
